Mr. Jensen will talk about how language, words, and terminology affect the way we think about, speak and argue our points of view. The session has 3 parts/headlines: Introduction, the current situation, and strategies.

Proposed Learning Objectives

  • To gain an understanding of how language affects ethics, legislation and society at large.
  • Be aware of how the LGBT+ movement is using language and terminology to champion their cause.
  • Can we also, as Winston Churchill put it, ‘mobilize the language and send it to battle’?
