About Course
Leaving the LGBT+ world and living for Christ, has its own set of challenges. Those challenges intensify by becoming a soldier for truth, speaking publicly for Jesus, and advocating for His gospel.
LGBT+ culture is promoting its own “gospel,” which is no gospel at all.
In Blown Away, I will share part of my own journey in an effort to expose some of these challenges and encourage counselors, ex-gay ministry leaders, church members, family and friends to encourage and to be sensitive to the threats of the enemy and much needed equipping for spiritual warfare.
As someone who long lived under the influence of self-pleasure, in contrast to a life of misery as a social outcast in my youth, I speak from personal experience.
Why would I make myself a target of the public? Why would I be transparent about my failures? Is it for self-gain? Who benefits from biblical declarations? Why is there so much resistance from those who claim to be God’s followers?
Over the years, I have witnessed many who have told of their transformation. Many who have made public declarations.
I have witnessed those who have failed and given up. And I talk to those who are struggling, trying to hold on. A ministry friend of mine shares, I was baptized, Satan was not. And so the enemy is relentless in reminding us of our past. Deep dedication to God’s “love in truth” messages, is frequently met with lies, deceptions, depression and failures orchestrated by Satan.
As an example, I would note that there are many pastors today who have addiction problems with porn. But who do they talk to? Most fear consequences in revealing their struggle to a colleague. Is it the same for those who left the LGBT+ world, and may have experienced some type of relapse? That can present itself in a variety of ways.
Satan is looking for ANY opportunity to reclaim us. Failing Jesus can be debilitating. Sin has consequences.
We are walking the narrow way together. I want to uphold God’s trustworthy counsel. Proverbs 24:16 tells us that a righteous man may fall seven times. If we maintain a focus on Jesus, He will secure us in Him. I believe we need to be there for one another, to encourage and be a conduit for those in their weakened state.
Praise God for His promise in Philippians 1:6, that He will finish the good work that He began in us.
