This course is designed to explore what the Bible teaches about human sexuality and why following God’s design is essential for human flourishing. By examining foundational biblical texts, transformative theological perspectives, the power of biblical prayer, and the influence of arts and media on our cultural understanding of gender, this course provides a holistic approach to pastoral care. This course is part of IFTCC’s Basic Pastoral Care Certificate . It explores what the Bible teaches about human sexuality and why following God’s design is essential for human flourishing. You will learn theoretical foundations, pastoral care methods, the power of biblical prayer, and the influence of arts andmedia on cultural perceptions of gender.
This course fulfills the following learning goals :
- Explain the biblical narrative of creation, the significance of gender complementarity, and the holistic nature of human development as intended by God.
- Identify how biblical theology addresses issues of identity and transformation, particularly as it relates to LGBT issues.
- Apply principles of biblical prayer to prepare your heart, nurture personal transformation, and strengthen your ministry through spiritual discipline.
- Critically evaluate ways in which arts, media, and cultural narratives shape our understanding of gender and sexuality, and learn how to apply biblical truth in a contemporary context.
