BRE 203 Ethical Challenges in Research and Advocacy

This course examines how religious liberty, free speech, gender ideology, and family values intersect within pastoral care and mental health contexts. Through personal testimonies, case studies, and global perspectives, participants will develop strategies to defend their faith, protect children, and navigate ethical challenges in counselling and ministry. The course emphasises personal reflection, practical application, and biblical principles to equip learners for faith-informed service.

This course fulfills the following learning goals:

1. Examine human development and devotion in research and counselling contexts, understanding how early experiences influence spiritual and psychological well-being (IFTCC A2).
2. Reflect on personal and professional practices to improve ethical decision-making and effectiveness (IFTCC A2).
3. Explain the importance of religious liberty and free speech, recognising the legal, ethical, and cultural factors challenging Christian professionals (IFTCC A2).
4. Identify harmful global ideologies that threaten the innocence of children and the integrity of families, formulating meaningful strategies to stand firm (IFTCC A2).
5. Enhance self-awareness and accountability in professional and personal settings, applying faith-based principles (IFTCC A2).
