This course examines the ethical responsibilities inherent in crafting and delivering professional, academic, and public presentations. Learners will explore key issues such as accurate data representation, bias awareness, proper citation and attribution, conflicts of interest, and respectful audience engagement. This course aligns with IFTCC’s Ethical Activism & Public Education Competency – A6 Effective Communication.
This course fulfills the following learning goals:
1. Identify unethical presentation practices (e.g., cherry-picking, misrepresentation)
2. Recognise forms of plagiarism (intentional and unintentional)
3. Evaluate graphics and visuals for honesty and clarity
4. Reflect on your personal biases and how to communicate them appropriately
5. Practise respectful, inclusive communication in cross-cultural and multilingual settings
