About Course

In this lesson, Pastor Elizabeth Woning discusses how a Christian worldview yields wholeness for people struggling with same-sex attraction, and how the role of the church in this. She speaks about the similarities and differences between Christians and the LGBT Community, the understanding and purpose of pastoral care with former LGBT women, prayer, the failing secular culture, and the approaches pastoral carers should use with the women in their care.

  • 1. Describe some ways in which the church is a safe-space for women with unwanted same-sex attraction
  • 2. Explain some Christian views which can provide stability to someone wanting to leave an LGBT lifestyle
  • 3. Describe why a fixation on brokenness is harmful (from a Christian perspective)
  • 4. Describe how Spirit-led prayer can help someone out of their struggles
  • 5. List some practical approaches to aid women struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction
  • 6. List some healthy statements that struggling women should say about themselves (in regards to their femininity for example)
  • 7. State why Christianity is more stable than secularism
